On April 27, 2011, High School Juniors across the state of North Dakota took either the ACT or the WorkKeys exam. While juniors were being tested, Seniors at Magic City Campus participated in several activities as listed below:.

Students were transported to Minot State University for a campus tour and an informational session in Anne Nicole Nelson Hall where they learned about CLEP testing, online courses, and general information applicable to any college campus.

Back at Magic City Campus students attended a session in the Arvel Graving Theatre entitled "Are You Ready". This presentation was delivered by Holly Arnold from the NDSU Extension Service and Jani Thomas, Counselor at Magic City Campus. They shared great information with students about college life.

Also at Magic City Campus,The U.S. Army hosted fun activities in the gym and gave students the opportunity to climb their wall.

Senior activities were sponsored by the Minot Public Schools Career Development Program, Minot State University, the NDSU Extension Service, and the U.S. Army.

Overall Evaluation

Students were asked to evaluate their experience for each of the 5 activities they attended on the following scale:

The first smiley face represents excellent, the straight face represents average, and the frown represents poor.

The 5 activities students evaluated were:

  • Tour of Minot State University
  • Presentation in Anne Nicole Nelson Hall
  • Are You Ready Presentation in the Arvel Graving Theatre
  • Army Activities in the Gym
  • Rock Climbing Wall

There was a total of 1749 session evaluations handed in (each student should have handed in 5 evaluations). Out of the 1749 session evaluations handed in, 981 evaluations showed an activity was excellent, 663 evaluations showed an activity was average, and 105 evaluations showed an activity was poor.
