Another Day in the Sandbox Lunch Pictures Breakout Sessions & Presenters Define Your Dream was a career exploration and self-awareness workshop for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade young women. This event was held on Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Minot High School, Central Campus. Allison Krebsbach from the North Dakota National Guard was the guest speaker. Through her slideshow presentation entitled "Another Day in the Sandbox" Allison shared her personal experiences while stationed in Iraq. The day was structured so that everyone would attend the general session. All participants were prescheduled into mini sessions on different careers. Several women from the Minot area volunteered their time to present a mini session describing their career and how they made the transition from school to where they are today. This was a fun and exciting way for these students to learn about career opportunities available to them. Workshop Goals: Provide young women with insight into career options by offering hands on workshops. Help young women realize the importance of math, science, problem solving and communication skills in daily life and careers. Learn from female role models about how girls can realize their career dreams. *Define Your Dream was sponsored by a Minot Public Schools Equity Grant Project and the State Board for Career and Technical Education.
