January 24, 2003, students at Central Campus expanded their knowledge
of careers in Biology. Each hour the biology classes combined
to hear a panel of speakers from various biology-related careers.
During each speaker's presentation, students learned how much
education was required and recommended for each career, what the
average earnings are for each profession, and how important it
is to like what you do -- job satisfaction is greater than any
monetary rewards. Much emphasis was placed on the importance of
communication skills, and students were encouraged to follow their
dreams. At the end
of each presentation, students were given the opportunity to ask
questions and some great discussion developed. Many students discovered
careers that they didn't know were available. The
