Slides
are great for showing a small group of people, but what about for larger
groups? Slides and slide projectors just don't have the quality capabilities
to wow an audience.
The Equipment
We start with a specialty scanner, Nikon Coolscan 4000, that is meant for
scanning film and slides. In order to take scan slides without causing any
physical harm to them, we then feed them into an attachment for the Coolscan.
This attachment, Nikon SF-200, is specifically made for scanning slides.
The Process
It's as simple as loading the slides in and pushing a button. It really
is. The Nikon SF-200 slide feeder attachment automatically feeds the slides
to the scanner and returns them to a storage tray afterwards. Set it up
at night before heading off to bed and the next morning you'll be greeted
to JPEG or TIFFs of your slides.
The Quality
So how good does it really look? Amazing! It's almost like seeing the original
