MPS School Board
Nancy Langseth
President
Nancy Langseth is currently serving her eleventh year on the Minot
Public School Board. Nancy is a former Minot educator. She graduated
from MSU with degrees in History and English, and taught at Bishop
Ryan High School for twelve years. She currently is a member of First
Lutheran Church, XI Gamma Sorority, Minot Art Club, PEO, Golden Oaks
PTA, Minot Public School Foundation, and is the co-chair of the Import
Shop at the Hostfest. Nancy and her husband, Darwin, have two children, Nick and Annie.

Jackie Velk
Vice President
Jackie Velk is serving her fifth year on the Minot Public School Board. As a lifelong resident of Minot, Jackie attended Minot Public Schools, graduating in 1976. Jackie has been employed as City Treasurer for the City of Minot for the past 25 years. She is married to Steve, and they have one daughter, Mattie, a ninth grader at Central Campus. She is active in the community with the Minot Public School Foundation, Chamber of Commerce Junior Achievement and Education Committees, and serves on the State Workforce Development/Volunteer and Community Services Commission. Steve, Jackie, and Mattie are members of Our Lady of Grace Church, where she serves on the Finance Committee.

Jim Rostad
Member
Jim Rostad is serving his third year of a four-year term on the Minot Public School Board. Jim also served on the Board from 1988-1992. A native of Carpio and owner of Minot's Finest Collision Center, Jim has lived in Minot since 1973. He is active in the Minot Area Autobody Association, the North Dakota Autobody Association, and the Society of Collision Repair Specialists. He is also a local coordinator for I-CAR, an autobody industry training program, President of the Minot Housing Authority, and a member of the Minot Lions Club and Christ Lutheran Church. Jim and his wife, Verla, have two grown children, Jackie and Andy, and two grandchildren.

Roger Kluck
Member
Roger was born in Englewood, California and raised in Hawley, Minnesota. He attended Moorhead State University and North Dakota State University receiving a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering. After working power plant and highway construction in Beulah and Houston, Texas for several years as an engineer, Roger moved to Minot in 1990 and is currently Ward County Engineer, Water Board Engineer, and County Park Superintendent. Roger is a registered professional engineer in North Dakota and Minnesota. Roger has been married to Jayne for ten years and they have five children, Jennifer, Jordan, Jean Keller, John Elkins, and Jim Elkins. Roger and Jayne also have three grandchildren, Alex Keller, Zachary Keller, and Abigail Elkins. All of his children and grandchildren attend or have attended Minot Public Schools. Roger and Jayne's daughter Jean currently attends the University of Mary majoring in management and their daughter Jennifer currently attends the University of North Dakota majoring in Nursing. Roger is active at Prairie Federal Credit Union as board chairman, is active in the North Dakota Association of County Engineers as past president, is past president of the North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers, and is a past member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Roger and his family attend Bethel Free Lutheran where he has been active on the youth board and building committees.

Laura Mihalick
Member
Laura Mihalick graduated from Minot High School in 1979. She attended Minot State University and is a graduate of Josef's School of Hair Design. She is a full-time homemaker/mother and volunteer. Laura serves on the Minot Public School Foundation Board, is President and Test Chair of The Magic City Figure Skating Club, and is Co-Chair of The Import Shop at Norsk Hostfest.
Laura volunteers at Washington Elementary School and is a Junior Achievement Volunteer. She is a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Sons of Norway, Golden Oaks P.T.A., Central Campus P.T.A., Minot Art Club, Minot ArtSpace Committee, Tomato Fest Committee, and Gentle Readers Bookclub.
Laura and her husband, Tim Mihalick, are the parents of Eli (21) a student at UND and Nora (16) a sophomore at Minot High School Central Campus. Laura and her family are members of First Lutheran Church.
